Welcome to Squirrel Class

We are a Years 1 & 2 class and our teachers are Mrs Beck and Mrs Watson.  

Our class is a safe, kind and caring place to be, where everyone is encouraged to reach their full potential. Squirrel class always do their best to work hard and believe that they can achieve anything if they don't give up and learn from their mistakes.

 

                              Helping your child with their learning

Reading

We really want your child to develop a love of reading! Encourage  them to read and share with you a range of different books, both fiction and non-fiction.

*Don't forget to share a bedtime story* 

We encourage your child to read  with an adult at least five time a week. Do remember to record when and what your child reads in the reading record book and please do have lots of conversations about the books they are reading.

Maths

Our vision for maths is for all children to have a positive, 'I can do' attitude towards maths and become fluent, confident and resilient mathematicians.

We encourage you to support your child with their 'Doodle maths' work which will be set once a week to consolidate their learning in class.

Spellings

Spelling lessons take place every Friday and the children will be tested on their spellings learnt from the previous week. Spelling lists will be sent out each term. Please check on ClassDojo each term for the new list.
